Kieran on Courtney:
Courto and I are very close in age, we grew up together and it sometimes amazes me how different we are in just about everything barring our love of music. I am often astounded by the depths of his musical ability, if we were twins, I'd be Danny De Vito to his Arnold Schwarzenegger in that department. Court is also one of the most infuriating people to work with, he likes everything 'just so', won't stand for second best, and I'm pretty sure he can't stand it when I play really loud. Court makes sure there is never a dull moment on stage and is the why reason Chris laughs so much when he should be singing.
Jason on Courtney:
There's a guy that I can't live without, but boy do we rub each other the wrong way! The good thing is that most of the time whatever we're arguing about is forgotten almost immediately. Courtney is a brilliant muso, but he also gives great massages so it's great to see that he's multi-skilled.
Chris on Courtney:
I've had the luxury of watching Courtney grow from a baby into a man. What an amazing experience! Although Courtney is not quite 4 years younger than me, musically, I've been able to relate to him as if we were twins. A gifted musician who has the broadest appreciation of music I've ever seen, Courtney never seems to have to work for his super powers, they just come to him naturally. Courtney is also a psychopath. He is a regular tourist in Eccentricityville and the Oxford Dictionary's definition of Mood Swings is simply - Courtney Murphy. When Courtney is in a good mood, I don't think there's a sweeter person on the planet. When Courtney's in a bad mood, he really is capable of killing a yak at 200 paces, with mind bullets. Courtney may be a serious contender for Australian Idol, but he's been my idol all along.
Shaun on Courtney:
Courtney is my favourite travel buddy. We rave about all sorts of stuff and according to Chris we are like two peas in a pod. He's my little hippy in training and we are each other's little brother. Court (aka Mongoo) is the most naturally talented bastard I've ever worked with, but it's kind of irrelevant when you're just enjoying the music or the great view, or a special moment. If he gets through to the top 5 of the competition, I'll ask him to marry me.
Clayton on Courtney:
A fabulous singer, a gifted keyboard player and an immensely talented songwriter…Courtney’s a triple threat! Be he Idol or idle, I count Court as one of my closest friends and I value each time I get to perform with him. I love the sound our voices make when they harmonise…I can’t help it…I dig it. It doesn’t matter if it’s on stage during a gig or around a piano afterwards or at home with a guitar. I miss him being a regular Wes. Sharing similar nocturnal activities, Court and I spent a lot of time in hotel rooms together over the years. Our love of music, puzzles, games and movie trivia has passed many a car trip and those hours away from home. Big-hearted and fun-loving, time spent with Court forecasts a 75% chance of hilarity. |
